Aditya Bio

Aditya Chandrashekaran is a freshman at Sunset High School. He has been playing chess since second grade and has competed in many tournaments hosted by the Minnesota Chess Association and SCA Chess Tournaments since then, and in these tournaments, he has won various prizes. He also has competed in and won tournaments hosted in Iowa and Chicago. After moving to Oregon, he regularly plays in Portland Chess Club and OSCF tournaments. He has been part of the school chess teams in elementary, middle, and high schools and has competed in multiple team tournaments. Aditya also enjoys programming, cricket, and basketball.

  • 2023 Portland Spring Open – 2nd Place in U1400 Section
  • 2023 OSCF Team State Championship – 2nd Place Team in High School Section
  • 2023 OSCF Team State Championship – Board Award in High School Section
  • 2022 SCA Statewide Grade Level Championship – 5th Place in 8th Grade Section
  • 2020 Minnesota Scholastic Chess Championship – Top 6th Grader in K-8 Section
  • 2019 SCA Statewide Primary & Elementary Championship – 5th Place in Open Section
  • 2019 Twin Cities Chess Club Championship – 1st Place in Open Section
  • 2018 Iowa Open – Top Unrated Player – RBO Section
  • 2018 Twin Cities Chess Club Championship – 1st Place in Open Section
