From Young Players to Proud Sponsors of OSCF

Recently the 13th annual OSCF state championship took place in seaside, where it’s been hosted since the first occurrence. Something really special about this one however was how me, Zoey, and Austin donated the cost from Puddletown to support the venue of the tournament. This is our biggest donation by far in Puddletown’s short history, but it’s only the beginning.  We are here to elevate Portland Chess for the youth!

Like all OSCF state championships, this is the biggest event they have. The venue was an entire convention center, which means a lot of kids and a lot of rooms. I’m very glad that we were able to give such huge support to OSCF so that the organizers of the tournament could focus on hosting a fun & successful tournament rather than on funding it!

OSCF is our favorite Oregon-based chess organization (inclduing PCC and OCF). I have been going to the state championship since my first grade, and it brings me great pride that I am able to sponsor the place which I have been playing at for so long.

Future is the youth in Portland Chess

I am extremely confident that this is only the beginning for Puddletown serving the community. We will continue to give back to our favorite chess community with increased donation amounts as much as we can so we can meet our goal of : helping 500 children reach 1000 USCF rating by 2028, supported by $500,000 from Puddletown in money and free/discounted services.
