2026 winter - Training program

Puddletown is poised to IGNITE our winter training program, fueling momentum with winter’s invigorating edge to elevate skills, strengthen resolve, and spark transformation.

NOTE:

  • Our classes fill up quickly! To get on a waitlist for a class that’s sold out, please reach out to puddletownchess (at) gmail.com
  • If you don’t know which level the player is at, please contact us at puddletownchess (at) gmail.com. We have placement tests to determine player’s level.
  • REGISTRATION FOR ALL CLASSES WILL BE CLOSED AFTER THE 3RD SESSION. From January 24 onward, please reach out to puddletownchess (at) gmail.com for training queries. 

Level 1

Absolute Beginner

All Level 1 Students
  • Weekly Zoom
  • Recommended for: Absolute beginners with no ratings
  • Goal => learn basic chess rules and be familiar with common checkmate patterns
  • Homework -> Evaluation -> In-class Feedback
  • Fridays 5:30pm - 6:30pm Pacific Time

Beginner

  • Weekly Zoom
  • Recommended for: Players with very basic chess knowledge & interest, with USCF rating 0-300
  • Goal => reach a USCF rating of 300
  • Homework -> Evaluation -> In-class Feedback
  • Fridays 5:30pm - 7:00pm Pacific Time
