Puddletown is a very young non-profit, only about 8 months old. In that short duration, I am super proud of all the progress we have made in spreading the word about PTC, but what’s really fascinating is that we already have 3 sponsors! And I want to share a bit more details about how our sponsors are helping elevate Portland Chess.
ChessKid
One of our sponsors is a very big one, and it’s ChessKid! ChessKid is a large website for kids and has online games, puzzles, videos, and more. They provided us with 100 one-year gold memberships to give to everyone who attends our training programs. One membership costs 70$, which is around half of the cost of the class! We will be using those for students who join our training programs throughout the year so they will be best utilized to learn and grow. We are also happy to give subscriptions to anyone who cannot afford it (reach out to us at puddletownchess@gmail.com) It’s so exciting getting a sponsorship this big so early on in our non-profit journey, and I cannot be any happier.
Tartberry Self-serve Yogurt
Our second sponsor is Tartberry Self-Serve yogurt. They donated money to us to be able to provide free entry into our monthly quads for a whole year! I’m very excited about this sponsorship as it allows underrepresented and low-income chess players to still have the chance to play in the quads and enjoy the game no matter what! We love you for helping extend the growth of Portland Chess community.
Quantified Financial
Our latest sponsor is Quantified Financial. They gave Puddletown money in order to provide free entry to girls and low-income players for 6 months. And they committed to continue this sponsorship for the foreseeable future. Because of Tartberry and Quantified Financial, we keep getting closer to our mission of serving underrepresented and underprivileged kids with much needed free services like tournament entries and trainings.
We are honored to receive such generous sponsorships and I personally promise that each penny we receive will be utilized to help and grow the most deserving young chess players in the community. Thanks a million to our current and future sponsors.
