Welcome to Pudddletown’s first-ever in-person seminar proudly hosted by co-founder Ishaan.

Join this in-person & interactive session, where Ishaan will share some key strategies to help our young chess players improve their game.

  • How Nimzowitsch first defined and used the idea of an outpost.
  • The difference between open and semi-open files and how they relate to creating outposts.
  • How to use an outpost to start attacks or create weaknesses in your opponent’s position.
  • Which pieces work best as outposts (knights vs. rooks) and where to place them.
  • How to convert an outpost advantage into a passed pawn or winning endgame.
  • Step-by-step examples from real games (like Petrosian’s) showing how to find and use outposts in practical play.

  • Ishaan is one of the co-founders of Puddletown Chess, and teaches Level 3 & 3+ training programs.
  • Ishaan is a rising Junior at Jesuit High School.
