Join us for the 2026 Portland Premier League (PPL) Chess Tournament, presented by Greater Portland Telugu Association (GPTA) & Puddletown Chess. Whether you’re a beginner, scholastic player, or experienced competitor, this fun and friendly tournament is a great opportunity to enjoy a full day of chess, meet fellow players, and compete for trophies and prizes.

- Date: Sunday, August 9, 2026
- Time: 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Venue: THPRD Cedar Hills Recreation Center
11640 SW Park Way, Portland, OR 97225 - Registration Fee: $25 per player
Schedule
- Check-in / Registration: By 9:30 AM
- Round 1 Begins: 10:00 AM
Tournament Format
- 5-Round Swiss System
- Time Control: G/20 +5 (20 minutes per player with a 5-second increment per move)
- Unrated Tournament – No US Chess (USCF) membership or rating required.

Sections
Players will compete in one of three sections:
- K–5
- Middle & High School
- Open Section
Note: Adult players may participate in the Open Section only.
