Introducing: Our New Medal Recycling Program

When I started playing chess, each medal and trophy I won was treasured dearly. I started a little trophy cabinet that I was immensely proud of. Yet fast forward a few years, and the little trophy cabinet had become a big trophy cabinet that was taking up a lot of space. I didn’t even know where the majority of the prizes had come from, and I was much more selective about what I put up there. Random medal from some quad? Out. Some ribbon from an unnamed tournament? Out. Duplicate medals? Out again.

This is a problem that many chess players would like to face (who wouldn’t want a lot of achievements to display!?), but it does often happen over time. With that in mind, Puddletown is introducing a new medal recycling program: trade in a Puddletown medal for two snacks. If you have any medals from previous Puddletown events (plus or even score) and you don’t feel like saving so many duplicates, you can bring in your extra Puddletown medal(s) during any monthly tournament and get two snacks in return.

We trust that this new program will reduce waste by reusing medals. You can still feel the achievement of performing well at a Puddletown tournament, only now you can get snacks while pruning your dust-collecting medal cabinet as well!
