What a fantastic day of chess! We had nearly 130 players – a record for 2026!
Our July 2026 tournament brought together another wonderful mix of returning families, first-time players, and plenty of exciting games. From nervous first moves to hard-fought final rounds, the tournament was filled with determination, sportsmanship, new friendships, and lots of memorable moments. It’s always inspiring to see players of every age and skill level learning from one another and enjoying a full day around the chessboard.
As always, a heartfelt thank you goes to our amazing volunteers. From tournament setup and pairings to scorekeeping, game analysis, pizza, and cleanup, they worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the day a success.
