What an incredible day of chess! 105 players came together for our August 2026 tournament, filling the room with energy, excitement, and plenty of great games.
It was wonderful to welcome familiar faces back to the board while also meeting so many new players and families. Throughout the day, we saw players of all ages and experience levels challenge themselves, learn from each game, and show what makes chess so special. There were intense battles, exciting finishes, new friendships, and plenty of moments to be proud of. We had families and friends come as far away as Vancouver, Bend, Hood River and beyond!
A huge thank-you to all of our volunteers who helped make the tournament possible. Whether they were setting up, managing pairings, keeping score, analyzing games, serving pizza, or helping with cleanup, their time and dedication made a tremendous difference.
Most importantly, congratulations to all of the players for competing with such enthusiasm and sportsmanship!
