What an incredible day of chess! 89 players joined us for our October 2026 Rated Chess Tournament, bringing another exciting day of competition, learning, and community to Puddletown Chess!
It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces return, along with new players and families joining us for the first time. From young beginners playing their first rated games to experienced competitors battling for top honors, the tournament was filled with exciting matches, close finishes, valuable lessons, and great sportsmanship. We were especially thrilled to welcome families from Vancouver, Bend, Hood River, and beyond to our growing chess community!
A huge thank-you to our incredible volunteers and coaches who made the day possible. From setting up the venue and managing pairings to analyzing games, serving pizza, helping families, and cleaning up afterward, every contribution helped make the tournament a success.
Most importantly, congratulations to all 89 players for their enthusiasm, determination, and sportsmanship! Whether you took home a trophy, achieved a new personal milestone, or gained valuable experience, we hope you left with something to celebrate and a little more love for chess.
