Hi, my name is Ishaan, and I am one of the founders of our new non-profit organization, Puddletown Chess. We named it Puddletown because Portland is a very rainy city. I want to do many things with this organization.
First, I want to introduce many new people to the game. This includes people of all ages. We are planning on doing it with young people who are interested in the game, and also with the older generation who need a passtime. We can teach many things to them, like openings, tactics, endgames, strategies, sportsmanship etc.
Another thing I am excited about is hosting tournaments for all of our students. These tournaments will be used to raise money for people in need. We can design the tournaments based on what we learnt in previous lessons, or just have a normal tournament. Doing tournaments will help spread the word about our academy and we can get even more people playing chess.
I am really excited to start working with people of all ages to get some training in the fun and complex game of chess. And on the other side we will be helping those in need by donating our earnings.
